What to do when Excel opens a blank screen and all of the options are greyed out
Every once in while you may open an Excel file which doesn’t display any data, but instead shows a blank screen with all of the options greyed out. There are multiple reasons why this may be happening, but most of the time the problem can be solved by unhiding the worksheet(s) which may be hidden due to a misconfiguration.
You can unhide the worksheet(s) by clicking on the View tab and then clicking Unhide.
This opens the Unhide dialog window. You can then select the worksheet you wish to unhide and press OK.
